Common Stonechat
Saxicola torquata

Habitat:
Stony scrub, mudflats, sand dunes, grass and reed clumps bordering water.
Size: Slightly larger than a sparrow.
Distribution: Locally abundant throughout the region except in the southern peninsula.
Identification: Very similar to the White-tailed (Saxicola leucura) that is found in parts of Himalayas; note that in the Common the tail is much darker (appears almost black) and  also is shorter.
