Rosy Starling
Sturnus roseus

Habitat: Open country, fallow fields, scrub lands.
Size: Smaller than Common Myna.
Distribution: Winter visitor reaching extreme south and at least as far east as West Bengal.
Identification: In flight the shape is similar to the Common Starling (Sturnus  vulgaris) but its paler body is diagnostic. The juvenile can also be confused with the Common Starling but note pale lores, rump and stouter yellowish bill. Often moves in groups, and large flocks can be seen in the evenings moving towards roosting sites.
