Common/Stejneger's Stonechat (Siberian/Stejneger's Stonechat)

Slightly larger than a sparrow.

Distinguishing characteristics

Very similar to the White-tailed (Saxicola leucura) that is found in parts of Himalayas; note that in the Common the tail is much darker (appears almost black) and also is shorter.

Winter distribution

Locally abundant throughout the region except in the southern peninsula.
