Last weekened (13 and 14 September 2013) was doing a bird survey in areas between Washim and Yavatmal district, Maharashtra. Was pleasantly surprised to see Red-headed Buntings at two places, both near Jowar crops. One flock of 15-20 birds had at least two Black-headed Buntings. At another location, again near Jowar Crop, saw few Common Rosefinches. Pied Cuckoos are all around at this time in Vidarbha. Also saw other migrants like the Orphean Warbler. It was good birding with a checklist of more than 60 species.

Sounds like an excellent birding weekend, Raju — thanks for sharing your sightings!
